Motorola's
taken the mystery out of mobile phone software. If you ever need to
update your mobile phone's software, Motorola's software update is
standing by. Over the air or through your PC, you control this secure
method of keeping your mobile phone in peak working order.
Please read the following using MOTOUPDATE
During MOTOUPDATE, data in your mobile phone may be lost. Please in advance. (Apply to "at your computer") the battery.
MOTOUPDATE is applicable to Motorola products purchased in Hong Kong authorized retail channel only.
If necessary, you may visit MOTO ServiceOne Centre for software update of your handset.

Ensure your PC is connected to Internet via broadband connection
Connect your mobile phone and PC via the USB cable
PC requirement: Windows XP, (Service Pack 2) or Windows 2000 (Service Pack 4)
After successful download and installation of MOTOUPDATE, on
certain occasion you may need to install the appropriate USB driver,

While the update is in process, DO NOT detach battery from
your mobile phone or disconnect it from your PC. Do not press any
buttons on your mobile phone unless instructed to do so
Follow all instructions in the installation wizard that will appear on screen
You may choose to back up your data during MOTOUPDATE, which will take approximately 50 mins for your device to complete the software upgrade. If you do not choose to back up your data, it will take only about 20 mins to complete the whole process. (Except for Android product.)
During the software update, all third-party media, including
but not limited to, music, pictures, ringtones, and screensavers, will
be deleted. You will need to reload all third-party media after the
software update. Third party applications and some custom settings
CANNOT be automatically restored after the device has been updated.
Please note that during the update, you will have the opportunity to
save your personal data. (Data in Android handset will not be removed after MOTOUPDATE.)

Now, you can upgrade the software of your mobile phone by selecting “Software Update?in your handset. In any case, the choice is always yours.
Steps: Main Menu -> Settings -> Phone Status -> Software Update -> Check Server

If you have a Gmail account enabled on your device, you will need to manually restart Google Auto-sync after the update is complete.
To restart Auto-sync, please perform the following steps on your device:
1. Tap and hold on the home screen
2. Select 'Widgets'
3. Select 'Power Control'
4. Now the Power Control panel should be on your home screen
5. Disable and then enable Auto-sync from this Power Control panel
6. Your device's Auto-sync should now resume
Remove the previous Weather widget in homescreen, then add it again.
